True-Copy Certification Guidelines

Vepapu requires the identity and address proof documents of every natural person (individual) to be certified according to the guidelines below. On a case-by-case basis, Vepapu may request true-copy certification for other documents related to individuals or corporate bodies.

The certifier must have seen both the original and the copy to compare them before making the certification.

Who Can Certify Documents?

Certification must be carried out by one of the following qualified professionals:
  1. Judge
  2. Magistrate
  3. Lawyer
  4. Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A. or C.A.)
  5. Notary Public
Warning
Self-certification is not permitted. An individual cannot certify their own documents. Immediate family members cannot act as certifiers.

Certification Details Required

The certification must include the following details of the certifier:
  1. Full Name
  2. Address (business or work address)
  3. Occupation
  4. Employer Name
  5. Telephone Number
  6. Email Address

The certification must also include the following declaration or a similar statement: "This document is certified by me as a true and correct copy of the original."

For photographic identification documents, such as passports:
  1. The copy must be in color and clearly display the individual's face.
  2. The certification must include an additional declaration, such as: "I certify that, having seen the individual, the photograph on this document is a true likeness of the individual to whom it relates, and it is a true copy of the original."
